It's a bit of both. In the lunge the quads in the forward leg are working and the back leg the hamstrings and glute. But when you transition to a kick back then the forward leg and flute load to support and the flute medius (the top portion of the gluten) fires.

It really does. I think that's the benefit of coming back to videos and series, you get more out of it because you are that much stronger
